YouTube - upload with iphone

This approach to uploading video to youtube (for educational purposes) is designed so that all videos from the particular class are uploaded to the one YouTube "Channel". This then facilitates better sharing with peers and/or Lecturer. To setup the "Channel" you can simply create a new gmail account with a unique name (eg. team10video). You may wish to do this for each group of students who are doing a particular course.

Alternatively, students can use their own personal YouTube accounts to upload video, and tell the Lecturer their username so they can then "subscribe" to the student's YouTube account. This achieves the same result, and you could do it whichever way tou prefer.

Step 1: Sign out of your personal youtube account on your iphone (if applicable)

  • If you do not have a personal youtube account on your iphone go straight to step 2
  • Select the youtube icon on your iphone menu
  • Select "sign out" at the top left of the screen, then the button to confirm you wish to sign out
  • Return to the main menu

Step 2: Sign in to the “team10video” youtube account.
  • Select the youtube icon on your iphone menu
  • Select “sign in” at the top left of the screen
  • Enter the following username and password:
    • Username = team10video
    • password = videoassessor
  • Select the “sign in” button
  • Return to the main menu

Step 3: Create or choose the video for uploading to Youtube
  • Select the "camera" icon
  • Record a new video for upload. Note, when you have launched the camera there’s an icon at the bottom left of the screen which you need to slide over to video mode;

Step 4: Upload video to youtube
  • Select the upload icon (bottom left of screen)
  • Select “send to youtube”
  • Enter the following:
    • Title = [UNIT CODE] - [YOUR SURNAME] eg. PPM101 - Sorensen
    • Description = [NAME OF UNIT] eg. Make a basic paper plane for indoor flying
    • Tags = [CLUSTER NAME] eg. aerodynamics, paper plane
  • Select the “education” category
  • Select “publish” (top right of screen)
  • Wait for the video to complete uploading
  • Search YouTube under the specific title (eg. PPM101 - Sorensen) and you should be able to view it online
